Circa 1880. This amazing Victorian-era Holbeinesque pendant locket features an ornate design centered around a central sapphire weighing 6.31 carats. The pendant is further decorated with multi-colored enamel. It is also accented with eight bead-set, natural rubies, 36 bead-set, rose-cut diamonds, and 11 freshwater pearls. Holbeinesque neo-renaissance jewelry was inspired by the art of Hans Holbein the Younger and almost always featured a central gemstone with accent enameling.
