This beautiful mid Victorian coiled snake ring has been crafted in shining 18ct Yellow Gold, finely polished to create a wonderfully bright finish.
Serpent jewellery was popular in Victorian times and represented love, loyalty and friendship. The serpent’s head is adorned with an approx. 0.2ct old mine cut Diamond, and two cabochon cut rubies form the creature’s eyes.
The ring is dated 1871, and also bears both Birmingham hallmarks and a faded maker’s mark which reads “E.L.”
It is a beautifully preserved piece of historic jewellery, and a worthy addition to any antique jewellery collection.
