This fascinating Victorian fob features an agate intaglio depicting a young soldier. The man is beardless and wears an elaborate helmet, indicating this carving may represent the god Mercury. The agate is displayed in a gold-filled bezel with a gear-like design. Scrollwork forms the ornate bale, and a jump ring has been added for ease of wear. A handsome piece, small enough to be worn any way you like. Circa 1880.

Details.....The fob measures .80" by 1.07". In Very Good Antique Condition. Some wear is to be expected on vintage and antique jewels; it is a part of their charm.
